How Echo Maintains Child Safety

Updated: July 25, 2025

Echo cares deeply about the safety of children. We do not allow anything that harms or takes advantage of kids under 18. This includes any pictures, videos, or messages that are sexual or inappropriate. Sharing or looking at this kind of content is not only against our rules, it’s also illegal. The worst kind of this is called CSAM (Child Sexual Abuse Material), which shows children in sexual situations. If we ever find anything like this, we remove it right away and report it to the right authorities. Our team works hard to keep Echo a safe space for everyone, especially kids.

2. How Echo Detects and Responds to Child Sexual Exploitation Content?

At Echo, protecting children is one of our top priorities. We take a strong approach to identifying and removing any content that involves child sexual exploitation:
  • Manual Review <small>(Post-Publication Checks)</small>: Our team manually views every post shortly after it’s published to ensure it does not contain any child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or content that sexualizes minors.
  • Community Reporting Tools: Users can report any content they believe involves CSAM or the exploitation of minors. Our moderation team reviews these reports quickly and takes immediate action when needed.
  • Trusted Safety Partnerships: We act on confirmed reports of CSAM from global child protection organizations, such as the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and other recognized partners. We fully cooperate with law enforcement and comply with legal obligations to ensure the safety of children on our platform.

2. What Echo Does When Child Sexual Content Is Found?

Echo takes strong and immediate action when content involving child sexual abuse or exploitation is detected. Here’s how we handle it:
  • Content Removal: As soon as we identify content that may involve child sexual exploitation (including CSAM – Child Sexual Abuse Material), it is removed from Echo without delay.
  • Account Ban: The account responsible for posting the content is permanently banned to prevent further harm or violations.
  • Legal Compliance and Reporting: If the content is confirmed to involve CSAM, we follow all legal requirements for reporting and preservation. This includes securely storing the content as evidence and sending it to the proper child protection authorities or law enforcement agencies, based on jurisdiction.
  • Working with Trusted Partners: We cooperate with national and international child protection organizations that help investigate these cases and coordinate with law enforcement globally.

3. What Can You Do to Help Stop Child Sexual Exploitation?

We all have a part to play in keeping Echo safe, especially for children. If you see anyone behaving inappropriately toward a minor, or sharing harmful content, please report it right away.

🛡️ How to Report:

  • If you have a Echo account: Use the report button on the post or profile.
  • If you don’t have an account: You can still submit a report through our report form.

Our team reviews all reports as quickly as possible and takes action to protect the community.
